The hockey gods were kind to the Minnesota Wild when they released their 2016-17 schedule today.
Three of Minnesota’s first four games of the season at at home and they have an incredible 8 straight home games in the middle of February. It’ll be the longest homestand in team history, Michael Russo says.
They’ll actually get to stay in Minnesota for 3 straight weeks because within the 8-game homestand is the first bye week in team history, scheduled for Feb. 22-26. The total length of the homestand runs Feb. 8-27.
The regular season begins Oct. 13 at St. Louis with the home opener Oct. 15 against Winnipeg.
In addition, the Wild play on back-to-back nights 14 times and their longest road trips are a pair of 5-game stints.
The Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins visit St. Paul on Black Friday, Nov. 25.
