
A seven-run third inning helped the Minnesota Twins pick up a 13-4 win over the Kansas City Royals on Sunday afternoon.
The Twins’ big inning began when Andrelton Simmons hit his first home run of the season, giving the Twins a 2-0 lead.

Later in the inning, Luis Arráez and Josh Donaldson were on base when Byron Buxton hit a dribbler to Hunter Dozier. Buxton’s speed helped him get an infield single but Dozier’s throw went wide and Arráez scored to put the Twins up 3-0.
After an intentional walk to Nelson Cruz and a sacrifice fly by Alex Kirilloff, Mitch Garver delivered a three-run homer to put Minnesota ahead 7-0.

Dozier made amends for his error by hitting a three-run homer off José Berríos in the third inning and Whit Merrifield’s RBI double in the fifth made it a 7-4 game.
Bu the Twins offense turned it on when Arráez hit an RBI triple in the sixth inning. Donaldson and Buxton added back-to-back RBI doubles to make it a 10-4 game and Alex Kirilloff hit his fourth home run of the series with a 431-foot, three-run bomb in the eighth inning to make it 13-4.
