The Vikings left the field following Sunday’s 23-20 overtime win over the Bears relatively healthy. The only man coach Leslie Frazier says he’s concerned about is quarterback Christian Ponder, who suffered a concussion just before halftime.
Ponder was replaced by Matt Cassel, who threw for 243 yards and a touchdown and helped drive the Vikings down the field for the game-tying field goal late in the fourth quarter.
Despite Cassell’s tremendous performance, Frazier, per usual, wasn’t ready to name any signal caller the starter on Monday.

“Just see where Christian is as we get into the week a little bit and see how things go as we go forward,” Frazier said when asked if Cassel had earned the starting job.
Frazier added that it would be “wise to talk things through” and there’s “no reason” to rush into a decision. Josh Freeman hasn’t played in nearly two months, but Frazier hinted that he could be in the conversation to start depending on Ponder’s health.
Ponder will be evaluated over the next couple of days. He needs to pass the NFL’s concussion protocol before he’s allowed to resume practice.
The Vikings don’t practice today or Tuesday.
