Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is facing charges after allegedly threatening his wife with a gun.
ProFootball Talk reports the 33-year-old was arrested after an altercation with his wife while he was drunk at a vacation home in Kissimmee, Florida during which he allegedly pointed a handgun at her and said: “I’ll kill you.”
His wife is said to have grabbed an iron and a knife to protect herself before another adult at the home separated them. She is said to have taunted the free agent by saying: “You better be accurate because you ain’t accurate on the field.”
UPI reports he was charged with aggravated assault and was released from jail Friday on a $2,500 bond.
TV station WESH 2 reports there were children inside the home at the time, where Jackson was staying as he visited family and friends at the Regal Oaks Resort.
Jackson spent his first five seasons in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, passing for 1,911 yards and nine touchdowns during the 2007 season, according to ESPN.
He was picked up by the Seahawks in 2011 and threw for 3,041 yards and 14 touchdowns in his first season, but from then on was used as a backup.
