Wednesday was the official start of Minnesota Wild training camp as players reported to the team for physicals and fitness testing.
The first practice will be held Thursday at Ridder Arena.
Mikael Granlund tops a list of five players the Pioneer Press will be watching throughout camp.
It’s an important training camp for the Wild’s 2010 first-round pick. Much hyped before the start of last season, he failed to show he’s an everyday NHL player. With spots open at center and on the wing, can he finally make that jump?
The Star Tribune reports that veteran forward Mike Rupp is skating and feels good following offseason knee surgery. Rupp believes he’ll be cleared for full activity by the end of the week.
Camp begins with the top line featuring Zach Parise, Mikko Koivu and Jason Pominville.
