Well, it was bound to happen eventually but the Twins finally lost a game on Saturday when they fell 6-2 to the Chicago White Sox. Minnesota began play as the lone undefeated team in baseball.
The last time the Twins lost a regular-season game was September, 30 2016.
Starting pitcher Adalberto Mejia had a tough time throwing strikes and was pulled in the second inning after Chicago took a 3-0 lead. Minnesota’s bullpen was once again superb keeping the game within reach.
Catcher Jason Castro hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to make it a 3-2 game, but the White Sox responded with three more in the bottom half and never looked back.
The offense had plenty of chances as all but one starter collected at least a hit, but Minnesota went just 1-10 with runners in scoring position.
Ervin Santana and the Twins will try to salvage the series tomorrow with first pitch set for 1:10 from Chicago.
