A bit of news as we count down to the Vikings game against Seattle.
Greg Jennings, who was listed as probable leading into the Week 11 contest at CenturyLink Field, has been deactivated and ruled out for today’s game. He has an achilles injury and did not practice Wednesday while being limited Thursday and Friday.
Jerome Simpson, who was charged with a DWI this week after an incident last Saturday morning when he was coming back from the downtown bar Pourhouse, has been benched by head coach Leslie Frazier.
Starting in his place will be rookie Cordarrelle Patterson, his first career start, this coming on the heels of the news that he would see an increase in his role on offense.
Simpson is still expected to play.
Josh Freeman is also inactive for the Purple, so Matt Cassel will serve as the backup for Christian Ponder, who was confirmed as the starter this morning.
