Former Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb will officially retire from the NFL Monday as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, The Associated Press reports.
McNabb originally announced in May that he was retiring as an Eagle in September.
The six-time Pro Bowl quarterback played 11 of his 13 NFL seasons with the Eagles. During his tenure with the team, McNabb, 36, led the team to eight playoff appearances, five conference championship games.
He also quarterbacked the Eagles in Super Bowl game XXXIX in 2005, which the team lost to the New England Patriots 24-21.
McNabb was traded to the Washington Redskins in 2010 and played for one season with the team, before he was traded to the Vikings in 2011.
The quarterback played in six games for the Vikings for six games before he was benched in favor of then-rookie Christian Ponder. He eventually was eventually released from the team.
