Kyle Lohse hasn’t faced the Twins in a regular-season game since he was traded to Cincinnati in 2006.
Tonight, he’ll get his chance in a Brewers uniform as Milwaukee tries to salvage one game of their four-game set against Minnesota.
Lohse isn’t a stranger to Target Field, however. He pitched an exhibition game there in April of 2010 when he was with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Lohse, 34, broke in with Twins in 2001, and compiled a 51-57 record over six years. But he was pretty much trade bait the second he took a bat to Ron Gardenhire’s office door after a bad start in 2005.
After eight years in the National League, Lohse is 68-57, including a solid year in 2012, going 16-3 with a 2.86 ERA in St. Louis.
This year, Lohse has an OK ERA of 3.76, but is just 1-5 for the slumping Brewers.
As if beating his former team tonight isn’t incentive enough, a victory over Minnesota will also put him in a fairly exclusive club.
If he can beat the Twins, he’ll be one of 13 pitchers with a victory against all 30 major league baseball franchises, according to hardballtimes.com.
