Former Twins reliever Alex Burnett has to be feeling unwanted at this point.
The right-handed reliever has been released by four teams, including the Twins, over the last 10 weeks.
He’s also been dumped by the Blue Jays, Orioles and Cubs. Take a look at the timeline of his rough 2 1/2 months.
March 29: Selected off waivers by the Blue Jays from the Twins
April 10: Designated for assignment by the Blue Jays
April 12: Selected off waivers by the Orioles from the Blue Jays
May 23: Designated for assignment by the Orioles
May 27: Selected off waivers by the Cubs from the Orioles
June 1: Designated for assignment by the Cubs
If it’s any consolation to him, Burnett cleared waivers and was assigned to the Cubs’ Triple-A affiliate.
