Eleven losses in its last 13 games (2-7-4) has the Minnesota Wild teetering on the edge of disaster. The team is buried deep in the Western Conference standings, seven points behind eighth-place Los Angeles and just five points ahead of 13th-place Arizona.
The solution to their woes is a mystery to the players. “I don’t know what’s going on defenseman Ryan Suter said after Sunday’s 4-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, according to the Star Tribune.
But while an answer remains absent within the team, Jeremy Roenick and the NHL on NBC crew think the Wild has to fire Yeo immediately if they want to salvage the season.

The team hasn’t responded with victories since Yeo’s expletive-filled tirade last week that caught national attention after it was caught on camera.
Michael Russo called the Wild the most disappointing team in the NHL. He noted that Yeo looks and sounds sick, and general manager Chuck Fletcher continues to leave the arena with a red face that resembles a boxer’s after a fight. Bottom line: the team is looking for answers.
“Every day’s a bad day right now,” Suter told Russo.
While Yeo has said he’s not going to worry about his job status, general manager Chuck Fletcher told reporters last week, after Yeo’s meltdown at practice, that Yeo isn’t in danger of being fired.

Pro Hockey Talk points out that Yeo owns a career record of 122-100-31, but in the third year with Suter and Zach Parise, winning just one playoff series isn’t the return on investment they were expected.
