Teddy Bridgewater’s journey back from a horrific knee injury in August 2016 has moved from Minnesota to New York, where he’s competing to become the starting quarterback of the Jets.
So far, so good, according to numerous reporters who have watched Bridgewater during Jets’ minicamp.
More Vikings: Laquon Treadwell: “I ain’t gotta prove nobody wrong.”
“He’s looked remarkable. In short, he’s looked like Teddy Bridgewater,” said NFL Network reporter Kimberly Jones. “And he’s going to push Josh McCown, who Todd Bowles (head coach) has said and continues to say, is his starting quarterback.”
Also in the mix to start is rookie first-round pick Sam Darnold.
I don't want to overreact here, but Teddy Bridgewater looks GREAT. Solid pocket presence. Making good decisions in 11on11 drills. It's early, but he's been impressive every time I've seen him. #Jets

The former Vikings quarterback is still wearing a knee brace under a black sleeve on his surgically repaired left knee, but the New York Daily news reports that he’s moving well, rolling out of the pocket without a hitch and looks “poised and under control.”
More from NY Daily News:
“The Jets hope that Sam Darnold will be ready to be the Week 1 starter, but I’ve been told that the brain trust won’t hesitate to turn to Bridgewater to open the season if the rookie needs more seasoning. Bridgewater’s next true test won’t come until he’s exposed to contact in the preseason. Will his knee hold up? Will he continue down the road less traveled? And will it make all the difference?”
Bridgewater, still just 25 years old, doesn’t appear quite ready for a backup job just yet.
