This is not what Timberwolves fans want to hear.
ESPN’s “Forecast” team, which predicts all things NBA, is forecasting a 10-win improvement for the Timberwolves next season. Ten wins would put the Wolves at 39-43.
And yes, 39 wins isn’t going to get any team into the Western Conference playoffs.
The same forecasters predicted the Houston Rockets to make the playoffs as the 8-seed in in the West with a record of 41-41 – meaning the Wolves would finish two games out of contention.
The Ringer’s Bill Simmons recently suggested the Wolves are “a lock” to make the playoffs. He also called Karl-Anthony Towns a bonafide top 10 player.
