It’s been 11 years since the Timberwolves last enjoyed a trip to the NBA playofs, and it’s going to be at least another year of waiting if ESPN’s summer forecast is correct.
ESPN’s summer forecast series, which predicts the record for every team in the league, has Minnesota finishing dead last in the West.
Predicted record: 24-58
That would be another brutal season, despite being 8 games better than last year’s 16-win Wolves squad.
One positive thought (not really) is to walk away from the prediction happy that Minnesota wasn’t picked as the worst team in the NBA. That dreadful status belongs to the Philadelphia 76ers, whom ESPN is putting on a 19-win season.
Wolves preseason schedule
The Timberwolves will open preseason play at home against Oklahoma City on October 7th, the team announced Tuesday.
The only other preseason game at Target Center is October 23rd against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Minnesota also plays preseason games against the Bulls and Raptors in Winnipeg, Toronto and Ottawa, along with true road games in Milwaukee and Memphis.
