MINNEAPOLIS — Adam Dunn hit two home runs, and drove in five, as the Chicago White Sox hammered the Twins, 9-4, Wednesday at Target Field.
Twins starter Mike Pelfrey (3-4) failed to get an out in the fifth inning before he was pulled. He gave up five runs on eight hits to get the loss, as he saw his ERA balloon to 6.57.
Joe Mauer went 3-5 to extend his hitting streak to 14 games. Justin Morneau also reached an 11 game hitting streak.
After going 5-5 on a season long 10 game road trip, the Twins have started their nine game homestand with four losses in six games.
Minnesota (18-19), which has an off day Thursday, closes out its nine-game homestand with a three-game series against Boston Friday.
