It looks like Kevin Garnett might join one of his favorite former coaches as he contemplates the next step in his career.
Garnett and the Timberwolves agreed to a buyout on the final year of his contract. Shortly after agreeing to the buyout, KG announced that he was retiring as a player.
It appears though that Garnett could end up working alongside Doc Rivers with the Los Angels Clippers. According to TMZ Sports, Rivers said KG has a spot on the Clippers coaching staff – if he wants it.
While Garnett has said previously he doesn’t have much interest in coaching, he did show up at Clippers training camp last week to work with posts DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin.
The blog Clippers News reports that it is likely that Garnett will be around the team quite a bit this season, but that no formal position has been worked out yet.
There had been some reports last week that Garnett was also considering an offer from Tyronn Lue about joining the Cavaliers coaching staff.
