With the 68th pick in the draft the Detroit Lions took the widely rumored quarterback target of the Vikings, Hendon Hooker.
The 25-year old Tennessee quarterback was heavily mocked to the Vikings as a first round pick in the months-long build up to the draft.
But the Lions traded up in the third round to snag Hooker with the 68th pick, 19 spots before the Vikings are due to make their second pick of the draft.
Goff will have no more guaranteed money on his contract heading into the 2024 season so the Lions could be taking Hooker to get a year to look at their future quarterback. Hooker is only three years younger than Goff.

Hooker tore his ACL in November but after throwing for 3135 yards, 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions in 11 games he was named the 2022 SEC Offensive Player of the Year.
Hooker has claimed he’ll be ready to go by Week One despite the November injury.
