Friday’s injury report from the Vikings lists four players as being ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Falcons, including the NFL’s leading rusher Dalvin Cook.
Cook (groin) was injured in Minnesota’s 27-26 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday night. He didn’t practice this week, which led to the question during Friday’s media briefing with Zimmer when he was asked if he thinks Cook will be ready to play Nov. 1 against the Packers (Minnesota is off next week).
“How would I know? I’m just trying to do today and this week,” snapped Zimmer.
Also ruled out for Sunday’s game are wide receiver KJ Osborn, defensive back Kris Boyd and starting right guard Dru Samia. Zimmer declined to say who will start in Samia’s place, while also snapping when asked if Samia was injured in practice.
“I’m not talking about him,” Zimmer said.
Alexander Mattison will take over the No. 1 running back job while Cook is out, with Mike Boone set to fill in as the primary backup running back.
Cornerback Holton Hill is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game.
