Adam Thielen extended his NFL record of consecutive games with 100+ receiving yards to start a season to six in Minnesota’s 27-17 win over Arizona on Sunday, and he’s on pace to break Marvin Harrison’s single-season receptions record.
Thielen is on pace to finish with 155 catches for 1,899 yards and 11 touchdowns. He leads the NFL with 58 receptions through six games, which is 10 more than any other player in the league (Zach Ertz is second with 48).
Harrison set the receptions record in 2002 when Peyton Manning connected with him 143 times. Through six games that season, Harrison had 52 catches.
Harrison caught at least eight passes in 12 games that season and topped 100 yards 10 times.
Thielen is also on pace to threaten the single-season receiving yards record of 1,964, set by former Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson in 2012.
The receiving touchdown record? Randy Moss hauled in 23 touchdowns in 2007, a record that might never be broken.
