Talk about late drama at the Xcel Energy Center Thursday night. Not only was it alumni night with the North Stars, but the Wild tied the Panthers, 2-2, on Erik Christensen’s goal with just 30 seconds left in the third period. But the Wild wasn’t done. Mikko Koivu scored the game-winner 15 seconds into overtime for the 3-2 win.
Kyle Brodziak also scored for Minnesota.
Niklas Backstrom made 25 saves in his first start since suffering a groin injury in Montreal on March 1.
