Chris Spielman is a former NFL linebacker, now turned analyst who will be calling football games this season. His first assignment? Calling a Minnesota Vikings game which just happens to be his brother’s team.
Chris’ brother is Rick Spielman, the general manager of the Minnesota Vikings, and Chris will call the Vikings season opener on Sept. 11 against the Tennessee Titans on FOX.
Chris told Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, “It’s interesting. Whoever loses, the fans are mad at me. And the team that wins is saying you’re right down the middle. So you’re never going to make everybody happy.”
Rick Spielman has been with the Vikings since 2006 and has been the general manager of the team since 2012. Chris was a three-time Pro Bowler across 10 seasons in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills.
