Timberwolves point guard Mike Conley was called for a foul but avoided injury when Chris Paul appeared to lunge into his legs during Minnesota’s win at Golden State on Sunday night.

“You could see it live. CP3 doing CP3 things,” Timberwolves radio announcer Alan Horton wrote in a post on X. “Glad Mike appears to be OK.”
The play happened after Karl-Anthony Towns created a loose ball that Paul dove for and then somehow appeared to change direction and forcefully hit Conley in the legs. Conley absorbed the contact on his right leg and then fell to the ground and was immediately dumbfounded how he was called for the foul.
Former Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley has long said publicly that he thinks Paul is a dirty player.
“You go for a layup, push you in the back, or you go for a loose ball, grab on your knee,” Beverley said earlier this year when asked if Paul is a dirty player.
