Royce Lewis had a pair of RBI doubles and Carlos Correa doubled and homered to lead the Twins to a 5-2 win over the New York Mets Friday night in Minneapolis.
Lewis ripped his first double down the left-field line in the first inning for an early 1-0 lead. The Mets took a 2-1 lead on Francisco Lindor’s ground-rule double in the fourth only to see the lead disappear when Correa hit a rocked into the second deck in left field for his 18th homer of the season.
Correa’s homer left his bat at 114.9 mph and went an estimated 439 feet.

The Twins scored three times in the seventh inning. Andrew Stevenson scored on a throwing error before Lewis hammered a pitch off the middle of the wall in dead center for a 4-2 lead, and then Lewis scored on Max Kepler’s bloop single to center.

Lewis now has 41 RBI, which is tied with Jorge Polanco for fifth most on the team. He’s done that in just 37 games. Polanco’s 41 RBI were produced in 67 games.
