The Minnesota Wild are down 2-1 to Chicago in their best-of-seven playoff series, with Game 4 tonight at Xcel Energy Center.

While the Blackhawks are still expected to prevail in this spring drama, here are a few number which may suggest Minnesota has a chance:

That’s the number of saves Josh Harding has made in the first three games of this series, as he fills in for the injured Niklas Backstrom. As the SI.com blog “Puck Gone Wild” blog wisely points out:  “There’s not a player in the league who doesn’t express awe and amazement at what the Wild goalie has gone through in the past 9 months and his high level of play in the playoffs.”

In Game 1, the Blackhawks won 54 percent of all faceoffs. In Game 2, it was a 50-50 split. In Game 3, the Wild took control, winning 56 percent of the draws. It’s a key stat for the Chicago Tribune’s Brian Hamilton, who writes: “Puck possession is the keystone for a Hawks team built for speed and attacking, and faceoffs aren’t important until they’re important.”

In Game 3, the Wild outhit the Blackhawks 34-13, a staggering difference of 21. Chicago payback might be tonight, and the game should be as intense as you can imagine. As Minnesota’s Devin Setoguchi told the Pioneer Press: “This is the time of the year it’s got to be grind-it-out hockey.”
