Byron Buxton gave the Twins a temporary lead over the New York Mets on Saturday night. After the Mets tied things up in 8th inning, the game eventually went to extra frames.
In the top of 11th, red-hot hitting Byron Buxton stepped up to the plate and sent a baseball 388 feet to give the Twins a 2-1 lead. However in the bottom of the inning, the Mets tied things up with a Curtis Granderson home run.
In the next inning, Granderson made the Twins pay again with a walk off home run to give the Mets a 3-2 win over the Twins.
Buxton continues to pile on the accolades in September. Entering play on Saturday, Buxton was hitting .327 while slugging .731 this month. Since being recalled on Sept. 1 Buxton has hit 6 home runs.
Two more hits for Byron Buxton, who's batting .333 with 6 homers, 11 extra-base hits, and a 1.151 OPS in 16 games since rejoining the Twins.
