Brett Favre joined NFL Network on Thursday and one of the questions former Vikings receiver Nate Burleson asked him was about the players he appreciated watching.
Favre, who will be inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, mentioned Barry Sanders, Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith – and the he went on and on about Randy Moss, while also mentioning Robert Smith.
“Robert Smith and Randy Moss,” Favre said. “I hate to say I enjoyed watching them, but you knew it was going to be painful when you watched them. First time I saw Randy play was against us and he has 200-and-something yards – I think it was 290 or something on Monday Night Football – and he had a 70 yarder called back. I thought … ‘this is incredible.'”
Actually, Moss had 5 catches for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns in that 1998 game at Lambeau Field. But Favre is right, Moss had a 75-yard play called back on the third play of the Vikings’ first series thanks to a holding penalty on Todd Steussie.
Meanwhile, Moss says he’s trying to be like Favre … playing quarterback on the beach with some friends in St. Lucia. Check it out on Instagram.
