Breaking news out of Chicago where the Minnesota Wild are underway against the Chicago Blackhawks in game one of the Western Conference playoff series.
Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom was scheduled to start, but suffered an injury during pregame warm-ups.
Starting in Backstrom’s place is veteran goalie Josh Harding, who has played in only two periods since February 7.
Harding missed the majority of the season because of complications from medication he takes to battle multiple sclerosis, which he was diagnosed with last fall.
