Ricky Rubio played one of his better games this season in last night’s 106-104 loss to the Knicks, but his inability to produce at the offensive end has never been clearer than it was when Brandon Jennings refused to guard him at the 3-point line.
Instead, Jennings backed up beneath the free-throw line – a good 10-feet from Rubio – and put his arms out as if he was daring Rubio to shoot. Rubio did not take the shot.
Rubio is shooting a career-low 25 percent from three this season. It’s one of many career worst per-game averages for the 26 year old.
- Points: 6.7
- Rebounds: 3.6
- Assists: 6.4
- Free throws: 76.3 percent
- Steals: 1.6
To be fair, Rubio suffered a sprained elbow at the beginning of the season and he even admitted to the Star Tribune that he doesn’t feel like himself.
