Fun fact: Miguel Sano has struck out more times than any hitter in MLB history through 150 career games.
According to Baseball Prospectus’s Aaron Gleeman, Sano has struck out 221 times through 150 games, easily passing Bo Jackson for the most ever.
- Miguel Sano – 221
- Bo Jackson – 204
- George Springer – 200
- Kris Bryant – 199
- Chris Davis – 195
If you think that’s really bad, think again. Gleeman points out that Sano is still a destructive hitter who simply treats a strikeout as typically being no worse than a routine ground out or pop out.
The other guys in that top five are/were good, too.
Bo Jackson was the man before injuries derailed his multi-sport career, Springer is having a really solid season for the Astros, Bryant is arguably the best power-hitting youngster in the big leagues and Davis led the league in home runs two of the past three years and was a top three MVP vote getter in 2013.
