Bert Blyleven announced Monday that fans will see less of him on Twins television broadcasts going forward.
In a tweet, the Hall of Fame pitcher turned broadcaster said the Twins and Fox Sports North offered him fewer games the next two seasons “because they said they are going in another direction.”
“I agreed to their request,” he added.

Blyleven’s tweet came after he had earlier raised questions about his future when he tweeted that he was putting his home up for sale, suggesting to some he was done broadcasting.
According to the Star Tribune, Blyleven will provide analysis alongside Dick Bremer in just 50 games in 2019 and 30 games in 2020.
The likes of Roy Smalley, Justin Morneau, Jack Morris, Tom Kelly, LaTroy Hawkins and Torii Hunter have all filled in for Blyleven over the last few years.
Blyleven’s beloved “Circle Me Bert” schtick was taken from him by FSN last season and replaced by a lottery-sponsored game more inclusive to fans watching at home and at the ballpark.
