A very happy 44th birthday to 1995 American League Rookie of the Year Marty Cordova.
A once beloved former Twin, Marty played five years with Minnesota before rounding out his career with Toronto, Cleveland, and Baltimore.
At the end of the day, Cordova is likely more memorable for his off the field exploits than those that made him millions on the field.
One memorable Marty moment had him face off with a tanning bed, with the winner coming as a surprise to no one.
Another found him trapped in Canada with his good friend, UFC President Dana White.
Why were they trapped? Cordova got in to the country without a passport, and was not allowed back in the US without it.
White claims that, despite playing for the Toronto Blue Jays, Cordova didn’t bring his passport because he thought Toronto was in the United States.
Despite the stunning stories that could leave any unsuspecting Cordova fan speechless, he seems to be doing quite well, as he is currently the COO of Bent Pixels, a digital entertainment platform that protects the rights of those posting videos on YouTube.
