OK, not for long.
In yet another cruel twist of fate following nine former Vikings coming out victorious yesterday in Super Bowl 48, the world champion Seahawks team jet was diverted on its trip back Seattle Monday, and just so happened to land at MSP airport to refuel.
The Vikings are 0-4 in Super Bowls, and while we’re sure this isn’t the first time to Lombardi Trophy has been in the state, it rubs salt in a wound that was opened yesterday by Percy Harvin, Heath Farwell, and even one-time Vikings starting quarterback Tarvarias Jackson, who saw mop-up duty in Seattle’s 43-8 blowout of Denver.
While it’s only fitting that the trophy come to our state with all the Minnesota connections, please Seattle, get that plane of the ground and stop tearing our hearts in two all over again.
