Hockey rinks across Minnesota are set to become the owners of NHL history – and Wild fans will have their chance too.
KSTP reports that with the Xcel Energy Center undergoing a renovation that will see new seats installed, the old seats will be given to 25 ice arenas across the state.
Arenas that will receive some of the seating include Cottage Grove Ice Arena, New Prague Area Community Civic Center, and the Buffalo Civic Center (you can see a full list below).

It bears similarities to the auction of around 20,000 seats from the former Vikings and Twins home at the Metrodome, which were sold around the country to football fans, collectors and athletic teams after the stadium was demolished.
In this case, ice arenas will get first dibs, but KARE 11 reports that the rest of the general public will have the chance to buy a seat for a price of $150 – with proceeds benefiting the Minnesota Wild Foundation.
Meanwhile, if you’re a Wild season ticket-holder, you’ll be able to get a seat at a discounted $100, a Wild spokesperson told BringMeTheNews.
Anyone wishing to register their interest in buying a seat can do so here.
