Anthony Edwards will be part of All-Star Weekend but he will not be participating in the 3-point contest.
Edwards had expressed interest in competing in the competition. After being named as an All-Star replacement player last week, Edwards told reporters that he would do the 3-point contest if invited, having previously said that he wouldn’t compete if he didn’t make it as an All-Star.
The 3-point contest on Saturday night will feature:
- Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics
- Kevin Huerter, Sacramento Kings
- Tyler Herro, Miami Heat
- Tyrese Haliburton, Indiana Pacers
- Buddy Hield, Indiana Pacers
- Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers
- Anfernee Simons, Portland Trail Blazers
- Lauri Markkanen, Utah Jazz
Edwards is shooting 36.6% from 3 this season.
The All-Star Game is Sunday, Feb. 19 in Utah, with the 3-point, dunk and skills competitions on Saturday, Feb. 18. The Timberwolves host the Washington Wizards Thursday night and then go on the All-Star break before returning to action Friday, Feb. 24 against the Charlotte Hornets.
