The Minnesota Timberwolves hung with the Los Angeles Lakers for most of the game on Tuesday night, but the Lakers withstood a career night from Anthony Edwards to dispatch the Timberwolves by a score of 112-104.
Despite the loss, the big story of the game was the play of Edwards. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft had a career night as he scored 28 points to go with seven rebounds, five assists, and a pair of blocks.

With Edwards leading the way, the Timberwolves opened up a five-point lead in the first half but went to the locker room down 57-56.
In the second half, Minnesota stayed in it thanks to a strong effort from their bench. Jordan McLaughlin scored 13 points and Naz Reid chipped in with 10 to head into the fourth quarter down 88-86.
Although the Lakers opened things up in the fourth quarter, the Wolves got within five points late in the game. Just as the Wolves looked to make a run, LeBron James put an end to it, posting 30 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists to help secure the victory.
The Timberwolves fell to 7-21 on the season and will look to get back in the win column when they host the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.
