There is a very good chance the bright future Timberwolves basketball fans keep waiting to see has arrived. And leading the way is forward Andrew Wiggins.
Wiggins put the Wolves on his back Sunday night as they beat the improved LA Lakers 125-99. Wiggins scored a career-high 47 points. And his effort earned him a post-game shower from Zach LaVine.

NBA General Managers made the T’Wolves their collective pre-season favorite “breakout” team, which SB Nation says Wiggins might be the key cog in.
“I’m finding myself. I’m finding things I’m good at … things I need to work on,” Wiggins said, via Timberwolves.com. “The game is kind of slowing down for me a little bit. I’m able to read a lot of different defenses and how people are playing me.”
The Ringer called Wiggins the Russell Westbrook of wing players. They explain:
“Wiggins is averaging 26.3 points per game on 48 percent shooting from the field so far in the season, and he’s shooting nearly 55 percent from 3. Wiggins still has a ways to go as a playmaker for others, but he’s already become an unconventionally efficient scorer, in large part due to his uncontainable athleticism.”
Wiggins’ huge game featured a career-high 25 points in the first half and 22 more in the final two quarters. But the way Wiggins carved up the Lakers was impressive; he missed only seven of 21 shots and he made 17-of-22 free throws.

Even though it’s a small sample size, Wiggins is completely dominating since scoring just 7 points in a loss to the Thunder 10 days ago. In four games since he’s averaging 33.5 points.
