It looks like Twins catcher Joe Mauer is headed to his sixth All-Star game.
In the latest vote results released over the weekend, Mauer has a 720,000 vote lead over Baltimore’s Matt Wieters for the starting American League catcher.
If Wieters somehow passes Mauer, there should be a Congressional investigation based on stats alone.
Mauer is hitting .330 right now with eight home runs, 25 runs batted in and a .413 on-base percentage.
Wieters is hitting .229 with nine home runs, 37 RBIs and a .284 on-base percentage.
