Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was back at practice on Friday and he plans to be ready to go Sunday when the Vikings travel to Chicago.
Peterson missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday with nagging finger, hip and ankle injuries.
“He was full go and he’ll be ready on Sunday,” Vikings coach Mike Zimmer told reporters on Friday.

Peterson told reporters Thursday the time away from practice wasn’t serious, but just necessary maintenance at this point of the year.
“That’s part of the business,” Peterson said. “Your body gets beat up and you need days like [Wednesday and Thursday] to relax and recover and let your body rejuvenate. Let it rest.”
AP is fourth in the NFL in rushing with 530 yards.
He is also just one of three players who were actually on the team the last time the Vikings won in Chicago (Chad Greenway and Brian Robison are the other two).
It was in 2007, when Peterson was in the fifth game of his rookie season. He ran for a career high 224 yards (at that time) and three touchdowns.
“I remember like a 60-yard run, I remember it was a big day,” Peterson said. “I remember the one run, I think it might have been an outside zone play. I broke it to the left and then I got wrapped up and spinned out of a tackle and went across the field and I remember Bernard Berrian and I think Bobby Wade made two great blocks, and I took it down the sideline for a touchdown.”
While Peterson is going to play, the Vikings’ injury report lists four others ruled out for Sunday.
- Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd
- Linebacker Audie Cole
- Defensive end Justin Trattou
- Tight end Rhett Ellison
