Adrian Peterson isn’t trolling fans when he says he’s glad his No. 28 Saints jersey is the top-selling NFL jersey in Minnesota, he’s honestly pleased that he still has fans in the state he called home for a decade.
“My fan base there is still strong, so it’ll be good to get back out in front of them,” Peterson said, via The New Orleans Advocate. “It shows that I was appreciated, which I knew, but that’s just confirmation.”
According to NFL Shop, Peterson’s Saints jersey is the best seller in Minnesota and 25th-best seller overall.
Peterson and the Saints open the season Sept. 11 against the Vikings on Monday Night Football. It’s a game Peterson admits he’s already thinking about.
“A little bit,” Peterson said. “Just to kind of get back and see some familiar faces, play in front of the fans I played in front of for 10 years, that’ll be pretty outstanding.”
