Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson is on the active roster and expected to play in the home opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday afternoon, the Pioneer Press reports.
It will be Peterson’s first game since tearing two ligaments in his left knee more than eight months ago.
However, coach Leslie Frazier and offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave are expected to limit his number of carries.
The Star Tribune notes the Vikings have seven players on the inactive list for Sunday’s game.
Vikings fans are excited to kick off the regular football season and are hoping the team can improve on last year’s dismal 3 and 13 record.
