Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is still being rightfully rewarded for his incredible comeback from a torn ACL to an MVP season in the NFL.
During Wednesday night’s ESPY Awards, Peterson took home the award for Best Comeback.
“A small mind cannot comprehend a big spirit,” Peterson said. “In order to be great, you gotta be willing to be misunderstood, to be talked about, to be mocked, but guess what. Stay strong, continue to work and thrive to be great.”
Peterson also claimed the ESPY for Best NFL Player. He won that award over Peyton Manning, Calvin Johnson, Aaron Rodgers and J.J. Watt.
Peterson was also nominated for Best Male Athlete, but NBA MVP LeBron James won that ESPY. The other nominees included swimmer Michael Phelps and baseball player Miguel Cabrera.
