The Minnesota Vikings announced on Thursday that the Adam Thielen Foundation will donate $100,000 to help organizations supporting families in need, providing meals and caring for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This community continues to amaze us with the support we give one another,” Thielen said in a press release from the Vikings.
In addition to the donation, Thielen also will be part of a radiothon on KFAN on April 9 to help raise funds for the Salvation Army, Second Harvest Heartland, M Health Fairview and the Minnesota Disaster Recovery Fund for Coronavirus.
“Throughout this radiothon, our hope is that we can make a greater impact together during this difficult time and also provide some entertainment relief throughout the day. We are all in this together, and supporting one another is needed now more than ever,” Thielen said.
The radiothon will begin at 6 a.m. and go until 6:30 p.m. Donations will be taken at thielenfoundation.org/COVID.
Thielen’s donation comes on the heels of Dalvin Cook and Danielle Hunter donating their royalty checks from the Madden video game franchise to North Memorial Health Hospital to help fund personal protection equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers.
