Adam Thielen’s return to the field remains a major question for the Vikings as the star receiver missed practice again Thursday.
Thielen, who was questionable to play last week only to be held out against the Seahawks because of a lingering hamstring injury, has yet to practice this week, leading to further doubt that he’ll be ready to play when the Vikings host the Lions at noon Sunday.
If he doesn’t play this week, it’ll mark the seventh consecutive game that he’ll have missed all or most of the game. Thielen injured his hamstring making a touchdown catch against the Lions in Week 7.
Thielen isn’t the only injury of note this week. Tackle Riley Reiff (concussion) didn’t practice Thursday, and Dalvin Cook (chest), who left Monday’s game and did not return, was on the field for the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday.
If there was ever a game where the Vikings can afford to play without Thielen, this Sunday’s game against Detroit might be it because Minnesota is favored by 12.5 points.
