Big days are coming in bunches this week for Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen. In fact it may be one of the biggest weeks of the 26-year-old’s life.
Just a couple of days after his highest-profile day as a professional football player, the Detroit Lakes native and Minnesota State University product, had another reason to celebrate.
Thielen and his wife Caitlyn welcomed their first child early Tuesday morning.

The birth of Thielen’s son also comes just a week after teammate Kyle Rudolph and his wife had twin daughters.
On Sunday, Thielen caught a career-high 7 passes for a career-best 127 yards and a touchdown, helping to lead the Vikings to a 31-13 victory over Houston Sunday.
Through five games, Thielen is third on the team with 20 catches for 272 yards and the touchdown.
He’ll have a little extra time to spend at home with the family this week. The Vikings have a bye, and they don’t return to the field until Oct. 23 in Philadelphia.
