The Minnesota Timberwolves are on their longest winning streak of the season, defeating the Golden State Warriors 126-114 for their fourth straight victory on Thursday night.
The Timberwolves were led by their young duo of Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards. Edwards scored 25 points to go with five rebounds to help Minnesota take a 60-58 lead into halftime.
While Edwards was padding his rookie of the year resume, Towns was working hard in the paint, adding 22 points to go with 11 rebounds and seven assists to help the Timberwolves stay in the game.
With Steph Curry scoring a game-high 37 points and Andrew Wiggins adding 27 points, the Wolves held a 109-107 lead with 5:24 to play.
The Wolves answered with a 9-0 run which helped put the game away and continued their late-season revival.
The Timberwolves (20-44) will host the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night.
The irony of the victory over Golden State is with each Wolves win, the higher the likelihood that they fall outside the Top 3 in the NBA Draft, which would see any pick at No. 4 or lower going to the Warriors thanks to last year’s D’Angelo Russell/Wiggins trade.
