Zach Parise scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season Sunday night but the Wild lost in overtime to the Blues, 5-4.
St. Louis’ Vladimir Sobotka scored the game-winning goal 2:16 into the overtime period.
The Wild trailed 1-0 before Parise scored power play goals in the second and tenth minutes of the second period. Mikko Koivu’s first goal of the season gave Minnesota a 3-2 lead, but Patrik Berglund’s wrist shot tied the game about a minute later.
Minnesota managed just four shots in the second period, but three found the back of the net.
St. Louis scored the first two goals of the third period, but Dany Heatley’s fourth goal of the season tied the game, 4-4.
Despite scoring four goals the Wild managed a season-low 16 shots in the game.
Minnesota is now 2-2-1 on the season. They host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.
