Basketball season is finally back and the excitement level for the Timberwolves this season might be at an all-time high. Head coach Tom Thibodeau plans on rolling out a starting lineup featuring Ricky Rubio, Zach LaVine, Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns and Gorgui Dieng, with the likes of Cole Aldrich, Jordan Hill, Kris Dunn, Brandon Rush, Shabazz Muhammad and Nemanja Bjelica coming off the bench.
The season opener tips off at 7 p.m. in Memphis. Here are five things to get you pumped up for the season.

3. Towns is flawless
Is there a better endorsement for Towns than the one The Ringer’s Jonathan Tjarks gave? Check this out:
“Towns has no real holes in his game, and no obvious ways for other teams to match up with him. Twenty-year-olds just aren’t supposed to be this polished. The Wolves are counting on a lot of inexperienced players in their rotation, but it might not even matter when it comes to them making the playoffs. Towns could be that good.”
4. Barkley joins the bandwagon
Charles Barkley called the Wolves a playoff team during TNT’s “Inside The NBA” on Tuesday night.
“I’m going out on a limb,” he said. “The Minnesota Timberwolves have a chance of making the playoffs this year.” He added that he thinks Kris Dunn will be the NBA Rookie of the Year.
5. Wiggins’ confidence is through the roof
Wiggins joined Chris Mannix on the NBA Vertical Podcast that you can listen to right here or in the player below.
“I’ve gotten stronger,” Wiggins told Mannix. “I’ve gotten a lot smarter … with the game of basketball. More confident, comfortable with what I can do on the court. I know my spots, where I can score. My confidence is through the roof.”
