One of the top recruits in the Class of 2021 has included his hometown Minnesota Gophers on his shrinking list of college options.
Kendall Brown, a 5-star recruit from St. Paul, has narrowed his recruiting list to 10: Minnesota, Kansas, Arizona, Baylor, Illinois, Maryland, Ohio State, Marquette, Arkansas, and Virginia.
Brown is a 6-foot-7 forward from St. Paul who played at East Ridge High School before transferring last season to Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas. 247Sports rates Brown as the 16th-best recruit in the Class of 2021. Here’s 247Sports’ scouting report on Brown.
“Extremely athletic with good length for a wing. Very quick getting off the floor. A finesse slasher type player. Has ability to finish tough shots. Not a long range shooter at this point. Handles and passes well. Serves as secondary ball handler. Disruptive and versatile defender. Improving shooting range is key to his development.”
The 2021 graduating class also features 5-star Chet Holmgren, the No. 2-ranked player in the class who stars at Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis. Holmgren has not announced his college decision.
The Gophers’ 2021 recruiting class currently includes one player: 4-star forward Treyton Thompson, who attended Alexandria High School in west-central Minnesota before transferring to a prep school in Indiana.
