Vikings players dealing with injuries get an extra day to heal with their Week 13 game not coming until Monday night in Seattle, and that’s great news as five of six starters listed on Saturday’s injury report are labeled questionable.
The key players on the injury report:
- WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) – questionable
- S Harrison Smith (hamstring) – questionable
- S Anthony Harris (groin) – questionable
- NT Linval Joseph (knee) – questionable
- DT Shamar Stephen (knee) – questionable
- LB Ben Gedeon (concussion) – out
While Thielen, Smith, Harris, Joseph and Stephen are labeled questionable, which indicates a 50-50 chance they’ll play, the Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling reports that all five are considered likely to suit up for the start of the stretch run before the playoffs.
Seattle’s injury report is loaded with key players, but the one that appears doubtful to play Monday after not practice Friday and Saturday is wide receiver Tyler Lockett. He’s dealing with injuries to his knee and shin, and if he doesn’t play Monday it’ll take 63 receptions, 831 yards and six touchdowns out of the Seahawks’ offense.
Minnesota will likely need a win to keep pace with the Packers, who are big favorites in their road game against the Giants. But if New York pulls a mini miracle and beats Green Bay, then the Vikings could be in the NFC North driver’s seat by Tuesday morning.
A Packers win coupled with a Vikings loss would probably be catastrophic to Minnesota’s NFC North title hopes, as the Packers have a much easier final four weeks.
