The NBA preseason is wrapping up for the Timberwolves, who will play their final game on Friday with their regular season opening on Oct. 26 in Memphis.
First-round pick Kris Dunn came in with a ton of hype after being picked 5th in the NBA Draft, with league executives and even fellow players believing Dunn is the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award.
Although preseason games mean nothing in the standings, Dunn has had trouble scoring the basketball. Through six games this preseason, Dunn is shooting a miserable 18 percent from the floor.
Maybe it’s a good thing that Dunn is getting these woes out before the season starts, but he’s not the only point guard who was a first-round pick to have struggled.
Here are three examples of point guards that who couldn’t find their shot in the preseason but ended up posting solid numbers in the regular season – so there’s still plenty of hope for Dunn to hit his stride in the coming months.
